Suryakumar Yadav To Captain Mumbai Indians In IPL Opener

Suryakumar Yadav will captain the Mumbai Indians against the Rajasthan Royals in their first match of this year's IPL. The decision comes as Hardik Pandya has been suspended for a single match for a slow over-rate penalty earned during last season's IPL.

Mumbai Indians' head coach Mahela Jayawardene confirmed that the BCCI had informed them about Pandya's suspension.

Hardik Pandya was confident in Surya's leadership and said that he is the best person to lead the team in his absence.

Being the Indian T20 captain, Suryakumar Yadav had just led India to a 4-1 series win against England on home ground.
