Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) marked a major win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a convincing 80-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The victory brought a rare record to the name of KKR, as they became the first team in IPL history to achieve 20 or more wins against three different teams.

- 20 wins vs Royal Challengers Bangalore
- 21 wins vs Punjab Kings
KKR has also now won five back-to-back matches against SRH between 2023 and 2025. Delhi Capitals also had a similar record earlier when they won five back-to-back matches against Hyderabad between 2020 and 2023.
This loss also represents SRH's biggest defeat in IPL history by runs as they lost by 80 runs in this game.
Vaibhav Arora's Effective Spell Resulted in Triumph
Vaibhav Arora was instrumental in KKR's victory with a stellar bowling effort. As an impact player, Arora pitched in with a match-winning spell of 3/29, and he won the Player of the Match award.
On his performance, Vaibhav Arora said:
"I had known in advance that I would be used as an impact sub, and so I geared up accordingly. I studied the pitch behavior—whether it was going to swing or decelerate. It was important to bowl yorkers and cutters. We practiced individually for every batter."
Varun Chakravarthy Praises Team's Performance
Varun Chakravarthy acknowledged the efforts of KKR’s batting and bowling unit. He credited Raghuvamshi’s early brilliance, followed by Venkatesh Iyer and Rinku Singh, for finishing the innings strongly.
Speaking about the game, Varun Chakravarthy said:
"Defending 10 runs an over, I thought we had a good chance. Vaibhav Arora bowled really well and was the leader of the bowling attack. This is our first season with Rahane as captain, and we didn't want to waste the batters' work. Andre Russell is our death over specialist, and we knew we couldn't give Heinrich Klaasen any opportunity at the crease. We were under pressure after losing the previous game, but the first four games are always about testing the squad. Now, with this win, we are pumped up for the next game."
