IPL 2025: Rishabh Pant And Digvesh Rathi Penalized For Code Of Conduct Breaches

Lucknow Super Giants Captain Fined for Slow Over-Rate

In a recent Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) faced the Mumbai Indians. Following this match, LSG's captain, Rishabh Pant, has been fined ₹12 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate. This penalty was imposed as it was the team's first offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which addresses minimum over-rate violations.

Spinner Digvesh Rathi Reprimanded for Repeated Celebration

In the same match, LSG's spinner, Digvesh Rathi, was fined 50% of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. This marks his second consecutive offence related to his on-field celebrations. Previously, Rathi was penalized for performing a 'notebook' celebration after dismissing Punjab Kings' Priyansh Arya. He repeated this gesture after taking the wicket of Mumbai Indians' Naman Dhir, leading to the recent sanction. Consequently, Rathi has accumulated two additional demerit points, bringing his total to three.
