The celebration on the field while dismissing Naman during the game against Mumbai Indians was reported by the match referee. Rathi's action constitutes a Level 1 offense according to Article 2.5 of the Code of Conduct, as per the IPL Advisory Committee. As such, he was fined 50% of his match fee.
Rathi Garners Three Demerit Points This Season
This is the third instance where Rathi has been sanctioned for such celebrations. He was earlier penalized during a match against Punjab and got a demerit point. Now, three demerit points are on his name, so more disciplinary action might be on the cards based on the decision of the committee.

Following the Mumbai game, Digvesh Rathi made a public comment regarding the celebration. He clarified that the "notebook signing" gesture represented his pride in playing for Delhi, saying, "I am from Delhi."
