MS Dhoni Becomes History in Chennai Super Kings' Win
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by five wickets in a close match in the latest game of the IPL 2025 season on Monday. Batting first, LSG set a target of 166 for 7 off their 20 overs. CSK played good knocks and chased the target in 19.3 overs with five wickets to spare.

MS Dhoni Breaks an 11-Year-Old IPL Record
With his match-winning effort, MS Dhoni broke a new IPL record. He became the oldest cricketer to receive the Player of the Match award at the age of 43 years and 280 days. The earlier record belonged to Pravin Tambe, who received the award at the age of 42 years and 208 days playing for Rajasthan Royals in the 2014 season against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Dhoni Credits Team Effort and Praises Young Talent

He particularly praised Shaik Rasheed, an upcoming opener, for his effort, especially pointing to his incessant practice sessions against spin and pace attack bowling.
Dhoni was optimistic about Rasheed's future, adding further that the young player has a strong possibility of becoming a regular team member. He also observed Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad's performance in the game, adding further that Ahmad was equally deserving of the Player of the Match award.
