Pant's IPL 2025 Performance
Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant has managed only 110 runs in 10 games in the IPL 2025 season. Of this, he made one half-century, which was a 63. In the other nine games, Pant managed only 47 runs. Purchased for a record ₹27 crores during the IPL mega auction, Pant has been at the receiving end of scathing criticism for his below-par performance that refuses to improve. A few questioned if the astronomical amount had gotten to his head. But Lucknow Super Giants mentor Zaheer Khan ended all such speculations.
Zaheer Khan's Strong Defense of Pant
Zaheer Khan brushed aside the speculation that Pant's price has got to his head and is affecting his performance.
"I don't connect price with performance," Zaheer expressed.
He painted Pant as a great leader and highlighted his fine captaincy abilities.
"As a batsman, he has not played a innings of substance yet, but when he focuses on the game, he will be unstoppable," Zaheer added.
He spoke about Pant's positive attitude and said that the team's all with him.
Zaheer summarized, "The past is past. Pant is positive and focused. He has all our support."
Lucknow's Playoff Hope Stays Alive
Talking about the playoff hopes of the team, Zaheer said Lucknow Super Giants have played 10 matches and have won five of them.
They have four more games to play, and if they win three or more, they will be in the playoff race.
He emphasized having the right net run rate and the right environment in the team.
"To win the tournament, good cricket is required. We already possess the right environment," Zaheer said assertively.
