Prasidh Krishna's Pivotal Role for Gujarat Titans
Pacer Prasidh Krishna is also playing a critical role in Gujarat Titans' this season. Though Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, and Jos Buttler are impressing with their batting skills, Prasidh is spearheading the bowling with Mohammed Siraj and Ishant Sharma.
- Prasidh is second among the top wicket-takers.
- Gujarat Titans acquired him for Rs. 9.50 crore during the IPL 2025 mega auction.
- Prasidh has taken 16 wickets so far in 8 games.
He said that getting KL Rahul out has been his highlight of the season so far. Also, he provided information on how pacers get an advantage using saliva on the ball.
Practice and Advice by Ashish Nehra
Prasidh said he hasn't made significant adjustments to his bowling approach this season. Rather, he concentrated more on developing his abilities and enhancing his preparation.
"I focused on my areas of weakness. I used to talk techniques to Ashish Nehra for many hours. He helped me immensely these past months. The ability to quickly adapt to matching situations and correct decisions when you're playing good form are responsible for instilling confidence," said Prasidh.
Better fitness has, according to him, also enhanced his game:
- Prasidh feels in top form and able to play a lot of cricket.
- He is having more fun playing on the field than ever.
For him, keeping the right length of bowling and gripping the ball firmly are the keys to success in both limited-overs and longer terms.
KL Rahul's Wicket: A Special Highlight
Of the 16 wickets taken by Prasidh, the wicket of KL Rahul is special to him.
"Getting KL Rahul's wicket was special. The ball swung late in the pressure situation, and his wicket changed the game for us. It is my favorite wicket of the season," he said.
Effect of Saliva on the Ball
Prasidh also talked about the role of saliva in fast bowling:
"Saliva provides bowlers with an extra edge. If a single ball among 120 sharply moves or leaves the batter in doubt, it can turn the whole match around. Even a dot ball can retard the opposition's run rate at a critical juncture," Prasidh said.
