AP CM Visits Tirupati After Stampede
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu visited the stampede spot in Tirupati, which was located in the Bairagipatteda region. Leaving Vijayawada, he reached Renigunta airport and moved to the spot to study the situation. The CM studied the circumstances surrounding the tragedy and met officials to find out their reason and evaluate the relief measures of the state government for the affected victims.
CM Takes Officials To Task
The Chief Minister, during his visit, criticized the officials, including Thitide EO Shyamala Rao, District Collector, and Superintendent of Police, for their handling of the situation. He addressed them directly and demanded explanations for the lack of preventive measures and their failure to manage the increasing crowd of devotees.
What were the Thitide officials doing when the crowd size was rising? Responsibility must be taken seriously. This is not a joke," the CM remarked, underlining responsibility.
Ticket distribution and complaints handling questions erupted
The CM directly confronted Thitide JEO Gauthami with the issue of lapses in the ticketing process, especially concerning complaints from the devotees regarding their tickets. "Were the officials ignorant about regulating the distribution of tickets in accordance with the number of crowd members? What actions were taken following the receipt of complaints from the devotees?" he inquired.
Prevention at Its Best
He cautioned that such things should not occur again in the future and hence strict precautions be implemented. In addition, Chandrababu Naidu ascertained ambulances and all other emergency facility arrangements to meet immediate responses.
Ministers Angani Satya Prasad, Vangalapudi Anitha, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Nimmala Ramanaidu were also present while he visited along with other officials.
