
Young India Skills University, ITE Singapore Enter into MoU
Formal partnership between the Institute of Technical Education, Singapore and Young India Skills University under the state government of Telangana with a Memorandum of Understanding in place. According to the purpose of the project, it trains students and young people in applied skills to prepare them for job markets. On the first day of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's Singapore visit, that started on Friday, the Chief Minister signed this agreement.
In a ceremony attended by CM Revanth, IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, and Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Skills University Vice Chancellor Subba Rao and ITE Deputy Director Fabian Chiang exchanged the MoU documents. The Telangana delegation also visited ITE's campus, exploring skill development programs and advanced training facilities. They interacted with experts across 20 sectors and held discussions with senior ITE officials to foster collaboration.
The minister stated that the government has emphasized these priorities in the state. Sridhar Babu elaborated on how market-driven courses are being conducted for the industry demand. He approached ITE to progress the training initiative. ITE officials agreed and are ready to cooperate and support in the skill development process.
Singapore ITE's Role in Training
The Singapore ITE is known for training individuals to join the workforce. It caters to all age groups, from tenth-grade students to youngsters joining the workforce. Singapore ITE works in collaboration with industries and IT companies and boasts the motto "Skills for Future, Skills for Life." With 28,000 trainees presently and 100 full-time courses available, ITE supports both online and on-campus training. There are around 5,000 partner industries that directly support the training of graduates to go directly to employment.
In furtherance of ITE's vision, the MoU allows Young India Skills University to access its curriculum and resources. The partnership will help in augmenting Telangana skill development opportunities, as well as strengthen sectors such as infrastructure development and construction, renewable energy, tourism, and education.
Future Initiatives and Benefits for Telangana
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Minister Sridhar Babu cited the long-term benefits of the tie-up, stating that it would help boost the economy and bring employment to the people of Telangana. An ITE delegation is scheduled to visit Hyderabad in the near future to take the discussion further and put the proposal into action. Key members from the CM's team were TGIIC MD Vishnuvardhan and Special Secretary to the CM Ajith Reddy.
CM Revanth Reddy meets Singapore's Foreign Minister
The chief minister, Revanth Reddy, met Singapore's Foreign Minister, Vivian Balakrishnan, as part of the delegation's visit. The two discussed several strategic issues, focusing on how to strengthen bilateral ties and create new opportunities for collaboration.
