Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has come down heavily on the Union Budget presented after the NDA government secured its third consecutive term. Expressing his dissatisfaction, he called the budget "Band-Aid treatment for bullet wounds."

Rahul Gandhi, posting his views on the social media platform 'X' (formerly Twitter), said, "The world situation is still unclear. Now, in this hour, India needs a paradigm shift to overcome its economic crisis. However, the central government does not have a vision. This budget is just a Band-Aid for deep wounds."

Opposition's Criticism and Allegations

  • Opposition parties have condemned the budget by saying that it does not offer relief to the poor and middle class.
  • They alleged that the government is too much favoring Bihar, and it is politically driven, as elections are soon taking place in the state.
  • They say this is also a ploy of the BJP-led central government to win the polls

BJP leaders' Praise and Support

  • On the contrary, the BJP leaders, even Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have appreciated the budget.
  • They have hailed Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as a budget for the common man.
The budget debate continues with the ruling and opposition parties presenting starkly different views.
