Munikrishna, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) candidate, has been elected as the Deputy Mayor of the Tirupati Municipal Corporation. He secured the position with the support of 26 members, surpassing YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) candidate Bhaskar Reddy, who received 21 votes. Election officials confirmed Munikrishna's victory following the vote count.

The election, originally scheduled for Monday, was rescheduled as the corporators failed to form a quorum. Among the total 50 corporators present in the Tirupati Municipal Corporation, 47 are active now. Besides, Tirupati Jana Sena MLA Arani Srinivasulu, YSRCP MP Gurumurthy, and MLC Sipayi Subramaniam are enrolled as ex-officio members.

There needed to be a minimum of 25 members in attendance for the election to continue. However, there were only 22 attendees today, among which MLA Arani Srinivasulu attended, and this election was successfully held today due to the adequate presence of the members.
