'Superman' is an upcoming American superhero film based on the eponymous character from DC Comics. It will be produced by DC Studios and, through a deal with Warner Bros. Pictures, will be the first film in the DC Universe (DCU) and reboot for the Superman film series. Written and directed by James Gunn, this film will star David Corenswet as Clark Kent / Superman. Also in it are Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell. Superman must find his way to being comfortable with the fact that he is an alien while also staying close to his human family.

Development on a sequel to the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) film Man of Steel (2013) began by October 2014, with Henry Cavill set to reprise his role as Superman. Plans shifted following the troubled production of Justice League (2017), and by May 2020, the Man of Steel sequel was no longer happening. Gunn began working on a new Superman film around August 2022. In October, he became co-CEO of DC Studios with producer Peter Safran, and they began working on a new DC Universe. Gunn was confirmed in December to be writing the film. The title was finalized as Superman: Legacy, and the following March 2023, Gunn was confirmed as the director. In June, Corenswet and Brosnahan were cast. In the end of February 2024, filming started in Norway, by which time the subtitle had already been dropped. Production was mainly done at Trilith Studios located in Atlanta, Georgia, and on location filming was performed in Georgia and in Ohio. The filming was completed in July. All Star Superman (2005–2008) in the comic books by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely, etc.

Superman is scheduled theatrically across the United States on July 11, 2025 and is set as the first title of the new DCU titled Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
