Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA as well as a former Minister, Harish Rao pointed out that the government has not been able to pay salaries to more than 16,000 home guards located all over the state. He described the situation as "shameful" and stated that the payment of wages has been extended so long that many employees and their families are now in very difficult financial situations.
Rao, who spoke on the social media platform 'X', expressed his total dismay about the issue and declared that many home guards have had to take loans for the house rent, school fees, and other daily expenses. He stressed the fact that this problem has been occurring deep into every month from the time when the Congress party took over the authority of the state, and there has been not a single sign of progress from the government on this matter.
Rao asked the Chief Minister about his silence on the subject and inquired how he could justify the suffering of the home guards. He accused the government's policies of aggression, budget cuts in the welfare schemes, and wage detention of employees. Rao described the authorities as anti-people and demanded that pending salaries be paid out to the home guards immediately.
