KTR Demands Local Elections Only After 42% Reservation To BCs

BRS Executive President KTR Slams Faulty Caste Census

Former minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Executive President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) criticized the state government's process of conducting a caste census. Responding to the decision to give another chance to those who had failed in being surveyed, KTR welcomed the government's acceptance of mistakes in the first survey.

Demand for Apology and Proper Survey

KTR requested the Telangana Assembly to formally accept the first caste census as erroneous due to incomplete calculations. He also requested Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to issue a public apology to Backward Classes (BCs) for the inconvenience caused by such blunders. According to KTR, the survey should be done properly in the second round so that fairness and accuracy are maintained.

Reservation Demands Prior to Local Elections

Referring to the need for fair representation, KTR demanded local elections be conducted only after a 42% reservation is given to BCs. He said that approaching the subject of reservation being under the control of the center would be futile, reiterating the state's responsibility to give proper representation to BC communities.
