Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy reaffirmed his commitment to his party's promises, stating that his leadership is driven by responsibility rather than personal gain. Speaking at a presentation on the caste census and SC classification at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad, he emphasized that the caste census was conducted not for his position but for the benefit of marginalized communities.
"Even if I am the last Reddy CM, it doesn't matter. I have taken on this role as a disciplined Chief Minister to fulfill the promise made by our leader. This is my commitment. The caste census is not for me but for those willing to sacrifice. I am ready to continue as an activist to uphold our leader's ideals," Revanth Reddy stated.
Defending the Caste Census
Refuting allegations of errors in the caste census survey, CM Revanth Reddy asserted that any opposition to it would harm the Backward Classes (BCs) permanently. He highlighted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's challenge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament, demanding a nationwide caste census.
"If the caste census survey is deemed incorrect, BCs will lose forever. Rahul Gandhi has challenged Modi in Parliament to conduct this survey across the country. However, Modi and KCR are working together to prevent it. Modi was not originally a BC caste person by birth. His caste was included in the BC list only after he became Gujarat CM. By certificate, he is a BC, but in reality, he belongs to an upper caste," Reddy alleged.
Call for Action
Reddy underscored the importance of the caste census, stating that proper data could legally justify increased reservations for BCs. He urged BC organizations to take proactive steps to raise awareness and pressure political leaders into supporting the survey.
"If we have official figures, even the Supreme Court can advocate for increased reservations for BCs. The second phase of the caste census survey should be utilized. I appeal to BC associations to create awareness by protesting in front of the houses of KCR, KTR, and Harish Rao. If they refuse to participate in the survey, they should face social boycott," he declared.
