Mujeeb Replaces Injured Allah Ghazanfar
Afghanistan off-spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman has been contracted by Mumbai Indians for the 2025 edition of the IPL. He comes in the place of his countryman Allah Ghazanfar who cannot make it because of being injured. 18-year-old Ghazanfar was picked up by Mumbai for ₹4.80 crores in the IPL mega auction originally.
Mujeeb's T20 Career and IPL Journey
Mujeeb's experience in the field is what the team needs at the present moment. He played more than 300 matches in international and domestic T20 cricket. He has taken 330 wickets in the off-spin bowling department which is quite impressive while keeping his economy at a low rate of 6.5. Mujeeb, who is the youngest Afghan cricketer, came out of the chutes when he was just 17 and made his IPL debut which marked the beginning of his successful career.
