Elon Musk Offers $1 Billion To Wikipedia On One Condition

Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia, provides a great deal of information to users worldwide. But every time someone visits the site, he is presented with a donation message. Bilionaire Elon Musk has already mocked this fundraising tactic a number of times earlier. Now, he has again made his declaration of giving $1 billion (Rs. 8600 crores approximately) to Wikipedia—but with a condition.

Musk stated that if the platform changes its name to a profane and indecent term, he will give. He asked whether the Wikimedia Foundation had to be funded continuously, and that Wikipedia did not require such large sums of money to operate.

"Have you ever wondered why the Wikimedia Foundation needs so much money from users? Wikipedia doesn't need that much money to run. So, what are they spending it on?" Musk questioned.

One of the users replied to his offer by asking if the offer was still on. Musk replied with, "Yes, the offer still stands. But if you want it, you have to change the name first."
