'Thunderbolts' is an American superhero film that is set to be released based on the Marvel Comics team Thunderbolts. It is being produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is set to be the 36th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The movie is being directed by Jake Schreier and written by Eric Pearson, Lee Sung Jin, and Joanna Calo. It also includes an ensemble cast which includes Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer, Wendell Edward Pierce, Hannah John-Kamen, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. In the movie, a collection of antiheroes becomes trapped in a life-threatening situation and is compelled to collaborate on a perilous task.

Marvel Studios started teasing the creation of a Thunderbolts team in the MCU as early as 2021. The movie was announced to be in the works in June 2022, when Pearson and Schreier were attached. The principal cast was announced in September, with casting continuing on into early 2023. Lee came on to re-write the script through March 2023, part of a handful of creatives returning to work with Schreier from Netflix's Beef (2023–present). The 2023 Hollywood labor dispute forced delays and necessitated some reshuffling in the cast during early 2024. Calo came on board by then to do further re-writes. Production began from February to June 2024 at Trilith Studios and Atlanta Metro Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as Utah.

Thunderbolts will have a United States release on May 2, 2025, as Phase Five's last film of the MCU.
