'From the World of John Wick: Ballerina' (or Ballerina) is an American neo-noir action thriller film set to be directed by Len Wiseman and written by Shay Hatten. It is the fifth part of the John Wick franchise, a spin-off between the action of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4. Ana de Armas stars in the leading role, while Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Norman Reedus star in supporting roles. Anjelica Huston, Lance Reddick (in his final on-screen appearance), Ian McShane, and Keanu Reeves all reprise their characters from the previous films.
Lionsgate purchased Hatten's spec script to the film in 2017, and he wrote on the last script to Parabellum and served as the top writer of Chapter 4. Wiseman joined to direct in October 2019, and Chad Stahelski became a producer in May 2020. Ballerina was officially announced in April 2022, with de Armas being confirmed to replace Unity Phelan, who played the character in Parabellum, in the lead; by December of that same year, the remainder of the main cast was completed. Principal photography subsequently began in short order, shooting in Prague, Czech Republic. Additional action sequences were shot from February 2024.
'Ballerina' is to be released on June 6, 2025.
