Indian-Origin YouTuber Secures Interview with Microsoft CEO
It has been happening for a while now that business icons and tech gurus have been appearing on YouTube podcasts regularly. It usually takes a lot of hard work to arrange these interviews, but an Indian-origin YouTuber managed to get Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on his podcast within four minutes—with an email.
How a Short Email Led to a Quick Response
Dwarkesh Patel, an Indian-American YouTuber, is well known for hosting podcasts with tech founders and celebrities. Patel sent a straightforward email to Nadella since Nadella was already subscribed to the newsletter of Patel's channel. His email was straightforward:
"Hi Satya, I noticed you are on my newsletter subscriber list. Are you interested in participating in my show?"
To make his invitation stronger, Patel added that other famous personalities such as Mark Zuckerberg and Tony Blair had also been his podcast guests. Within four minutes of sending the email, he got a response from Nadella, accepting the interview.
Sharing the Experience on Social Media
Delighted with the quick response, Patel shared screen shots of the mail exchange on 'X' (formerly Twitter). He uploaded the interview on YouTube and 'X' so that netizens could witness the exchange between himself and Nadella.
Topics Discussed in the Podcast
Nadella spoke about his 34-year experience at Microsoft in the podcast. He proudly discussed his long history with the company and talked about new technologies such as Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and the application of quantum computing.
