The Last Airbender is an upcoming American animated martial arts fantasy film co-directed by William Mata and Lauren Montgomery. It is a sequel to the Nickelodeon animated TV series Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005–2008), and the first production of Avatar Studios. The movie features the voice talents of Dave Bautista, Eric Nam, Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten, and Román Zaragoza, and will depict the series' main cast during their teenage years.
The movie was greenlit in February 2021, and the creation of Avatar Studios, a new banner of Nickelodeon specifically for the production of projects based on the world of the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise. Latifa Ouaou and Maryann Garger produce the film and original series creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko executive produced, as well as executive producer Eric Coleman. Flying Bark Productions in Sydney, Australia provided animation services.
The Aang: The Last Airbender film is to be theatrically released on January 30, 2026, in the United States by Paramount Pictures.
