Rammohan Naidu: Request For Increased Support Price Of Over Rs 11,600 For Chilli

Union Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu expressed that a request has been presented to Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for lending financial help to chilli cultivators of Andhra Pradesh (AP). The Centre has been requested to announce a support price of over ₹11,600 per quintal for chilli. He announced this after an authoritative meeting was held under the Union Agriculture Ministry in Delhi.

Chilli Export and Market Development Discussions

Chilli exports and proposals to expand foreign markets for Andhra Pradesh chilli goods were brought up during the meeting. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Union Minister, personally explained matters and promised exporters that he would consult with them before taking a decision.

Government's Commitment to Chilli Farmers

The Minister explained that the production cost and price fluctuations in the market would be kept under close observation. He revealed that the farmers of chillies in Andhra Pradesh, especially those in districts of Rayalaseema, Guntur, and Palnadu, are suffering from financial losses. He assured that all possible efforts would be made to support them.
