
Prime Minister Modi has been invited to Mauritius' 57th Independence Day.
Mauritius Prime Minister Naveen Ramgoolam announced that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the guest of honor for Mauritius' 57th Independence Day next month. He underscored that the visit is a clear show of diplomatic ties between the two countries. Gratefully, Ramgoolam said Modi, in the midst of his hectic schedule, accepted the invitation, which speaks volumes of his position as one of the world's most influential leaders.
Mauritius National Day Celebrations Mauritius became independent from British colonial rule on March 12, 1968, and has been marking March 12 as National Day since then. Indian President Droupadi Murmu was the guest of honor at last year's celebration. The University of Mauritius also awarded her an honorary Doctor of Civil Law degree on the occasion.
