With the announcement of the Telangana election results, the Congress party is vying for control. Given this context, a lot of people are speculating that the Congress party's formation was largely motivated by the Padayatra emotion. In the past, Padayatra feeling was resolved by leaders like YSR and the late YS Jagan. There is talk that the Telangana Congress Party has benefited from it this time around as well.
The belief that we would achieve power if we march through the Telugu states is substantiated by the outcomes of the Telangana elections. Although this view has been expressed several times in Andhra Pradesh as well, Telangana is discussing the same formula in political circles as though it had handed the Congress control. The BRS party came to power when Telangana was formed and held it for two terms. Congress has prepared plans in an effort to win the third election and seize power. The Congress party used the padayatra formula as part of this. The analysts clarify that the outcome of that is the outcome of today's election.
Congress, the party that created Telangana, was relegated to opposition status twice before making a determined attempt to seize power a third time. Hastam leaders believed that the padayatra was the sole effective means of exposing the shortcomings of the BRS administration. In order to inform the public that we are present and aware of the issues the state's citizens are facing, CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka has started a padayatra under the banner of the People's March. The People's March Padayatra of 2023 began on March 16 in Pipra, both Adilabad District constituencies, and was effectively carried out for 108 days. 1350 km were covered by the people's march as it passed through 750 villages, 17 districts, and 36 constituencies. Not only did Bhatti receive an extraordinary response from the populace during this tour, but it appears that the journey also had a significant influence on the elections. However, as part of the Hath Se Hath Jodo Yatra, Revanth Reddy of the TPCC also visited the state, spoke with the populace, and garnered support for the Congress party. The party garnered a sizable following the participation of the other Hastam leaders at padayatras in their different constituencies.
YSR's victory with public supremacy
Saying that YS Rajasekhar Reddy's padayatra under the banner of "Prajaprasthanam" in unified Andhra Pradesh gave the Congress power is not hyperbole. YSR began the padayatra from Chevella on April 9, 2003. The trek took 68 days, covering 690 villages in 11 districts and all 56 constituencies. Without a doubt, according to analysts, the 1,475-kilometer-long YSR Padayatra continues to generate buzz in political circles.
Babu's victory is Vastunna Meekosam
Following that, in 2012, Chandrababu began practicing the "Vastunna Meekosam" padayatra. Chandrababu has covered 2817 km on foot via 13 districts in Uttar Pradesh. Babu reached 1253 villages, 162 mandals, and 16 assembly constituencies during this padayatra. It is reported that the influence of Chandrababu's march helped the TDP win an electoral victory in Andhra Pradesh in 2014, following the state's repartition.
Padayatra to meet Jagan
Following that, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the son of YSR, continued his father's padayatra. As the head of the opposition, Jagan resumed his 3,648-kilometer padayatra throughout Chandrababu's administration in order to learn about the struggles faced by the populace. Over the course of 341 days, from November 6, 2017, to January 9, 2019, 2,516 villages in 134 assembly seats were traversed by this padayatra. The YSR Congress Party came to power in AP in 2018 following this padayat. Following this feeling, the Telangana Congress Party went to the people with a padayatra and is now making a break for power.
