Zelensky: Ukraine Owes America, Willing To Negotiate With Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and former American President Donald Trump recently exchanged bitter words on a media outing, drawing worldwide attention. The two had a fight, and as a result, Zelensky abruptly ended the meeting and walked out in the middle of it. Subsequently, he made serious comments about U.S.-Ukraine relations, declaring that he was ready to sit down with America and sign an agreement. He also reaffirmed that Ukraine is deeply indebted to the United States.

European Leaders Discuss Ukraine-Russia War

On Sunday, European leaders gathered in London to discuss ending the Ukraine-Russia war. Zelensky was present at the meeting and later spoke about the most recent diplomatic updates.

"I can keep good relations with the United States. If President Trump invites me to constructive dialogue, I am ready to meet again. I am always ready to discuss serious, real things. If there is an agreement between both parties, I am ready to sign the minerals agreement," Zelensky said.

Zelensky Thanks Europe

Zelensky later posted a video message on social media reaffirming the firm support that Ukraine enjoys from European countries.

It is again clear that Europe is with us completely. Together, we're united in bringing peace back. Under the conditions now, concrete security assurances are necessary. This cause is also pursued by the UK, the European Union, and Turkey. We must, however, also acknowledge the pivotal role played by the United States. Valuable support coming from America can never be given enough thanks, and we're grateful every single day."Thanks to our freedom defenders. We want peace, not an extended war. That is the reason security assurances are important," he said.

Tensions Over U.S. Proposal

Zelensky last week paid a visit to the White House to meet with U.S. officials regarding a U.S. proposal to end the Russia-Ukraine war. The U.S. proposed that Ukraine open its land to mining rare minerals in return for peace. During the meeting, Zelensky requested protection against future Russian aggression.

His request has been said to infuriate Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, with the latter questioning Zelensky for not properly recognizing the U.S. support. The conversation grew increasingly heated, resulting in Zelensky walking out of the White House without signing the agreement on minerals.
