Rumors of former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly's acting debut are making waves on social media. A newly leaked photo of Ganguly wearing a police uniform has created buzz regarding his role in the web series Khaki: The Bengal Chapter (Khaki 2). Fans are thrilled at the prospect of witnessing him on screen for the first time.

At the trailer launch event on Wednesday, producer Neeraj Pandey was asked whether Ganguly is part of Khaki 2. With a smile, he responded, "As for Sourav... why not wait and see what he says?" His statement has led many to believe that Ganguly’s on-screen debut is confirmed. Some speculate that he wore the uniform as part of the series' promotion.

Khaki: The Bengal Chapter is the sequel to Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, which premiered on Netflix in 2022. The first season, based on real-life incidents from IPS officer Amit Lodha’s book Bihar Diaries, gained massive popularity. Following its success, a second season was developed, now set in Bengal.

His biopic has been under development for some years now, and more recently, Rajkummar Rao was officially on board to portray the former cricketer. Ganguly himself has confirmed the news, stating, "As far as I know, Rajkummar Rao will play the title role."
