India Yamaha Motor launched its first hybrid bike, the Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid. The company launched this model at Rs. 1,44,800 (ex-showroom), which is Rs. 10,000 more than the recently launched non-hybrid model.
Powerful Engine with Advanced Technology
- Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid is driven by a 149 cc Blue Core engine.
- This engine meets OBD-2B emission standards for better environmental performance.
- It is equipped with a Yamaha Smart Motor Generator and Stop & Start System, which minimizes noise during ignition.
- If the bike is idling for a long time, like at traffic lights, the engine will automatically turn off. To start the bike again is as easy as using the clutch.
- Yamaha has not announced the mileage of the bike yet.
Design and Features
- The design of the new model looks like the non-hybrid one but with some extra enhancements.
- Turn signals at the front are now placed close to the fuel tank.
- It features a 4.2-inch full-color TFT instrument cluster, giving a sleek look.
- The bike is connected to mobile phones through the Yamaha Y-Connect app, giving turn-by-turn directions for extra convenience.
- The Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid comes in Racing Blue and Cyan Metallic Gray shades.
Company's Vision
Itaru Otani, Yamaha Motor India Chairman, welcomed the launch of the company's first hybrid bike in India. He emphasized that the FZ series has been a flagship product in Yamaha's Indian journey. With the launch of the hybrid model, Yamaha continues to strengthen the FZ range to suit changing customer needs.
