TFCC Calls For Action Against Betting App Promotions

The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) has responded to the increasing problem of betting app promotions in the film industry. It revealed that certain actors are promoting the apps knowingly, while others are doing so unknowingly. As a response to the ongoing scandal, the TFCC released an official statement.

Actors Need to Comply with Law

The TFCC underlined that all, including cinema personalities, need to adhere to legal and ethical principles. The body pointed out fears of betting apps destroying society, saying such endorsements are not acceptable.

"We will write a letter within two days, calling for action against actors who have been involved in the promotion of these apps," the statement continued.

Raising Awareness on Betting App Promotions

The TFCC encouraged members to become more aware of the influence of betting app promotions. It cautioned that such endorsements are motivated by cash and seeking overnight fame at the expense of society.

Important points from the release are:

  • Betting app promotions are unethical and must be avoided.
  • Celebrities have to play responsibly and avoid misleading people.
  • Awareness campaigns will be carried out to enlighten industry members.
  • Strict action will be initiated against the individuals continuing to advertise such apps.

Role of Industry in Avoiding Betting App Addiction

The TFCC stated that some leading actors have declined betting app promotions even after being offered high prices. It further cautioned that addiction by youth to such platforms is on the rise owing to strong marketing by influencers, such as YouTubers.

"Regardless of whether it is from the movie industry or social media, no one should be responsible for corrupting youth," the TFCC said.

The group reaffirmed its role in ensuring proper advertising practices and safeguarding the public's interests.
