Trump-Putin: Putin's Gift To The US President

Putin’s Gesture Toward Trump

US President Donald Trump is energetically engaging himself in the resolution of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine with a view to restoring peace and stability. While doing this, something unexpected has happened. Russian President Vladimir Putin has supposedly presented a gift to Trump, confirmed by the Kremlin.

Earlier this month, Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff visited Moscow. On his visit, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov disclosed that Witkoff had been presented with a portrait of Trump, which he was requested to gift to the ex-president. Witkoff revealed this information in an interview last week, referring to the gift as "beautiful." In 2018, when Trump initially entered office, Putin had presented him with a soccer ball.

Putin's Response to Trump Assassination Attempt

Last year, while campaigning in Pennsylvania, Trump survived an assassination attempt. A 20-year-old attacker fired a shot, injuring Trump in the ear. His security team immediately intervened, escorting him off the stage and to a hospital. The incident gained widespread attention at the time.

Following the news of the attempt, Putin recently declared that he prayed for Trump's recovery. He added that he had gone for a local meeting, met with a religious leader, and offered prayers for Trump's health.

Trump's Peace Initiatives in Ukraine

Trump is demanding peace in Ukraine and has suggested a 30-day ceasefire. Ukraine signed on to the plan, and Moscow accepted it conditionally. Trump also spoke on the phone with both presidents, recommending that Russia cease attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure for one month. Putin agreed, but the ceasefire was broken within hours.

Simultaneously, peace talks have been launched in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told that making gains in these negotiations is still not easy. At the same time, he reaffirmed that safeguarding commercial shipping in the Black Sea is of extreme importance to Russia.
