Kangana Ranaut Responds To Kunal Kamra's Comments: 'For 2 Minutes Of Fame'

Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra’s remarks about Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde have sparked controversy. Bollywood actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut recently reacted to these comments, questioning the direction society is heading in if such statements are made just for temporary fame. She made these remarks while speaking to a news agency.

Kangana's Reaction to Kamra's Comments

Kangana said, "We need to consider where society is headed if such things are being said just for 2 minutes of fame. It does not matter who says this, but lowering someone's dignity and making comments about them is not acceptable. If one has to criticize, it should be done through literary channels. But in the name of comedy, our people and culture are being insulted. The stage destruction in this controversy was lawful, but in my case, it was unlawful."

Kangana's Previous Controversy with BMC

Kangana has previously complained about the Mumbai Police, mentioning that she was more afraid of them than the so-called movie mafia, especially at the time when the case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput was investigated. Her remark caused a massive political controversy and an expletive-filled war of words with Sanjay Raut, a Shiv Sena (UBT) MP.

After this conflict, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) destroyed part of Kangana's office in Bandra. The actress approached court, which later judged in her favor, denouncing the BMC's actions and issuing compensation for the damages. She recently reminded everyone of this episode in her comments.

Kunal Kamra's Controversial Comments and Their Aftermath

Kunal Kamra, in a recent event at Habitat Studios, passed some controversial comments regarding Eknath Shinde. He purportedly compared him to a turncoat and tampered with the lyrics of the hit Hindi number Dil To Pagal Hai satirically but in a direction towards politics.

These remarks provoked a heated response from Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) activists, who vandalized the studio and created mayhem. A total of 12 individuals were subsequently arrested. Furthermore, police filed an FIR against Kamra on Monday. Meanwhile, BMC officials came to the site with heavy machinery and demolished illegal structures inside the studio premises.
