A strong earthquake hit Myanmar and Thailand on Friday, causing widespread destruction. In Bangkok, the Thai capital, several buildings collapsed. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences and assured assistance to the affected nations.

PM Modi's Response to the Disaster

Expressing concern over the progress, PM Modi stated that he hopes for the well-being of all those concerned. He maintained that India is ready to provide necessary assistance. "I have instructed the Ministry of External Affairs to remain in contact with the governments of Myanmar and Thailand on a regular basis to assist relief efforts," he tweeted from his official 'X' account.

Myanmar experienced two massive earthquakes in mere minutes, both with a 7.7 intensity on the Richter scale. The tremors triggered a 7.3 intensity earthquake in Bangkok and left widespread destruction. A number of buildings collapsed in the two countries, leaving dozens of people under the debris.
