Ashwin Should Not Bowl In Power Play: Krishnamachari Srikkanth's Tip To CSK

Former Indian cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth has advised Chennai Super Kings (CSK) not to use Ravichandran Ashwin during the power play. Ashwin, who retired from international cricket last year, has come back to CSK after 12 years but has failed to make a difference this IPL season.

Ashwin's Performance So Far

  • Ashwin has bowled 10 overs in three matches, picking up three wickets.
  • His economy rate is 9.90, giving away heavy runs with little success.
  • CSK began with a victory over Mumbai Indians but lost the subsequent two matches.

Srikkanth's CSK Suggestions

Krishnamachari Srikkanth feels that certain changes to the team may enhance CSK's performance. He provided the following suggestions:

  • Don't use Ashwin in the power play, as he can be used more effectively between overs 7-18 along with Ravindra Jadeja and Noor Ahmed.
  • Rahul Tripathi can be left out, and Anshul Kamboj can be given a chance.
  • Devon Conway can come in place of Overton in the team.
  • Shivam Dube has to be in the playing eleven.
  • Andre Siddharth can be used as an impact player.
  • Pacer Mukesh Chaudhary can be used as a useful inclusion, considering his past performances for CSK.

CSK's Next Challenge

Chennai Super Kings will play Delhi Capitals in their next game on April 5 at Chepauk on Wednesday. Fans will be interested to know if CSK adopts Srikkanth's suggestions to make a comeback in the tournament.
