Siraj's Emotional Response To Playing Against RCB After Seven Years

Siraj's Career from RCB to Gujarat Titans

Mohammed Siraj, who played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for seven years, played against his previous team as a Gujarat Titans (GT) player. The game was held at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, where Siraj had practiced and picked many wickets before. But this time, he was on the other side. GT won against RCB as Siraj put up a dominating performance, claiming three wickets in four overs. He received the Player of the Match award for this effort and revealed how emotional he felt about the experience.

Siraj's Emotional Response

Discussing his experience, Siraj stated:

"I have played here for seven years. My jersey was red when I first arrived and now it's blue. I felt a little emotional coming back here. But the minute I got hold of the ball, my concentration was still on the game. I'm a huge fan of Ronaldo, hence the celebration when I take a wicket."

Siraj also discussed his training during the international break, where he focused on his fitness and enhanced his game. He attributed Gujarat Titans coach Ashish Nehra for telling him to have fun bowling and senior pacer Ishant Sharma for showing him line and length. He stressed that he does not pay much attention to the pitch conditions but rather has a positive attitude.

Gill on Pitch Conditions

GT skipper Shubman Gill complimented the bowling of his team and stated:

"Restricting RCB to 170 on this ground was a big effort. The pitch does not act in the same way at all times, and scores of 250+ can be achieved on this ground. But early wickets are vital in order to control the opponents. Our quick bowlers drew the first blood in the first eight overs, and we thought that early wickets were the way to be in control of the game. The team based its batting approach on the surface."

RCB's Batting Struggles

RCB captain Rajat Patidar conceded that the team was looking for a total of 190+ but lost the momentum due to the early fall of wickets:

"We didn't prepare for 200, but we aimed at least at 190. Unfortunately, we lost some important wickets early. Our strategy was right, but the scoreboard pressure mounted after three wickets fell in the powerplay. In the later stages, Jitesh Sharma, Liam Livingstone, and Tim David batted aggressively to take the total to a decent figure. Our bowlers then did a good job to defend the target."
