History of Lunar Waste Problem

During the six successful moon landings, astronauts brought back samples of lunar material and performed experiments. Because of a lack of storage space on the Lunar Module, they jettisoned non-essential materials including human excrement. It has now emerged that 96 bags of human waste are still on the surface of the moon.
