BYD, one of China's top vehicle and battery makers, has launched a sophisticated 1 MW flash charging system that can charge an electric vehicle (EV) battery to full capacity in 5 to 8 minutes — equivalent to filling up a petrol or diesel car.
Major Features of BYD's Flash Charger
- The new charging system takes advantage of enhanced battery and fuel storage technologies.
- Within 5 minutes, the charger can achieve a driving range of 400 km.
- In order to spread this technology, BYD is launching more than 4,000 new charging points in China.
