Indian cricket player Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma settled their divorce officially. The divorce was granted by the Bandra Family Court at Mumbai, affirmed by the attorney of Chahal, Nitin Kumar Gupta.
Court Hearing and Resolution
Chahal and Dhanashree came to court today for the hearing of their divorce petition. The Bombay High Court dispensed with the six-month cooling-off period, which is mandatory, as the divorce was amicable. It directed the family court to complete the proceedings by March 20, and the court has now sanctioned the divorce.
Under the settlement, Chahal will give ₹4.75 crore as maintenance to Dhanashree, with ₹2.37 crore said to have already been paid.
Marriage and Speculations
The two wed in 2020 and had an active online presence. Rumors of separation, however, started when the two stopped following each other on social media, and Dhanashree removed 'Chahal' from her name.
