Instagram users in United States encountered service disruptions as a result of technical glitches. The problems hit application logins and server connections, prompting users to complain on social media.
Thousands Experience Problem
Downdetector reports that Instagram services crashed at 7:25 PM on Thursday, with approximately 19,000 users experiencing the issue. A large number of irritated users complained on X (formerly Twitter).
Current X Outage and Cyber Attack Issues
The social media platform of Elon Musk, X, also recently experienced significant outages. The platform had three interruptions within one day. Musk accused a vast cyberattack as the cause, stating that a well-funded entity or even a nation-state was likely responsible.
Musk conjectured that Ukraine could be behind it, based on the fact that the IP addresses attributed to the attack were within the region of Ukraine.
Instagram has not yet made a formal announcement on what caused the interruption.
