Zelenskyy's Courageous Comments Regarding Putin
The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made shocking remarks about the Russian President Vladimir Putin. During a news conference after he met with the French President Emmanuel Macron, Zelenskyy stated that Putin will be dead soon.
"'Putin will soon die. That is a fact. This will stop the war between our nations. Russia desires that this war must go on, but we need to force them to end it,'" Zelenskyy said. His remarks are made at a time when there is increasing speculation regarding Putin's health, as viral videos circulate depicting him coughing and having tremors in his hands and legs. But reports suggest that these videos are from 2022.
Continuing Speculation Over Putin's Health
There have been continuous reports over the health of Putin, with claims of major illness and even suggestions of the use of performance-enhancing drugs. The Kremlin has continually denied such rumors and dismissed any suggestion of an issue over Putin's health. No official response has been issued about Zelenskyy's recent comment as of now.
US-Led Ceasefire Negotiations and Current Developments
At the same time, Ukraine has signed on to a US-supported offer of a 30-day temporary truce to stop fighting with Russia. The United States has begun diplomatic attempts to get Moscow to sign the agreement. US officials are said to be negotiating with Russia via Saudi middlemen.
In a related move, the White House on Tuesday said that both countries had agreed to stop attacks in the Black Sea. Shortly after this, former US President Donald Trump issued a statement indicating that even as mediation efforts continue, Putin seems to be intentionally hindering the ceasefire process
