Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2025 has at last received the sanction of Parliament after intense arguments and strong resistance from a few political parties. The bill passed both houses of Parliament despite across-the-country talks.
Following the approval, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called it a historic milestone. He added that the Waqf system has been facing transparency and accountability issues for decades. He was confident that with the new amendments, good things would happen with equal opportunities given to marginalized sections to get heard.
