
Astronauts Blast Off from Kazakhstan on Russian Soyuz MS-27
Three astronauts departed for the International Space Station (ISS) on Tuesday. They blasted off on Russia's Soyuz MS-27 spacecraft. The blastoff was at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

Johnny Kim is also a native of Los Angeles and is a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy. He is a pilot and surgeon in the Navy. His experience is an asset to the ISS team.
