Ola Roadster X Launched: Prices, Features & Battery Range

Ola Electric officially rolled out its maiden electric bike, the Roadster X, made at its Tamil Nadu factory. The launch is a major step for Ola to expand further in the electric two-wheeler segment beyond scooters. The company assured customer sales and delivery from this month.

Advanced Engineering and Key Features

The Ola Roadster X also incorporates flat cable technology for the first time in an electric bike. The design promotes thermal efficiency, reduces overall weight, and offers long-term reliability. The bike features a wire-based braking system and has a single-channel ABS. Besides this, the implementation of Move OS 5 incorporates advanced features such as reverse mode.

The battery packs of Roadster X are IP67 standards compliant, hence dust and waterproof. This implies that it will have a longer lifespan and will perform well under harsh environmental conditions. Ola has indicated that this new series is targeting customers who look for leading-edge technology in addition to robust engineering.

Battery Variants and Pricing Structure

Ola Electric has launched several versions of the Roadster X to cater to different range and budget requirements. The standard Roadster X comes in three battery variants:

  • 2.5 kWh model for Rs. 84,999
  • 3.5 kWh model for Rs. 94,999
  • 4.5 kWh model for Rs. 1,04,999

For the customers seeking longer range there are high-performance Roadster X+ variants. The 4.5 kWh variant Roadster X+ is offered at Rs. 1,14,999 while the top-of-the-line 9.1 kWh model offering a range of 501 km on full charge comes at Rs. 1,84,999.

Production and Rollout Plans

All models of the Roadster X are being manufactured at Ola Electric's Tamil Nadu manufacturing plant. According to Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and Managing Director, Ola Electric, sales will begin in April, and the company will ramp up production rapidly to meet growing demand. The motorcycles will be retailed through Ola's existing network and online platform to maximize reach in urban and semi-urban areas.
