On Thursday, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was challenged by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao to step down and run against him in the next Lok Sabha elections from the Malkajgiri seat.
After Revanth Reddy challenged the BRS to win at least one Lok Sabha seat, Rama Rao responded by saying he was prepared to step down from his Sircilla Assembly seat in order to run for the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat. He also urged Revanth Reddy to step down and fight him. 2019 saw the election of Revanth Reddy from Malkajgiri to the Lok Sabha.
The former minister said that winning and losing elections is normal in politics during a casual conversation with media representatives.
"If you're brave enough, step down as Chief Minister and run against Malkajgiri. To run, I'll also resign as an MLA," he declared.
The well-known BRS leader, KTR, insisted that the Congress government first put into effect the promise to waive farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh. According to the BRS leader, all 420 promises—including the monthly payment of Rs 2,500 to each woman—should be carried out by the government.
He claimed that Revanth Reddy had a complex and that the Congress leader had thrown challenges during his 2018 and GHMC election campaigns from the Kodangal constituency.
In response to Revanth Reddy's remark that KTR entered politics through the "management quota," he questioned which quota Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi belong to. Declaring, "Revanth Reddy is from the payment quota," he claimed to have bought his way into the position of state Congress chairman by paying money to Congress leadership.
