In yet another blow to the regional party ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Bharat Rashtra Samithi MP BB Patil joined the BJP on Friday as the country's ruling party aims to increase its share in Telangana and other southern states.

The event occurred one day after Pothuganti Ramulu, the BRS MP from the state's Nagarkurnool parliamentary constituency, joined the BJP. Patil, who presently represents Zahirabad in the Lok Sabha, and the son of the Dalit leader from the seat are anticipated to run for office.

Several leaders of the BRS left the party to join the BJP, or Congress, which is currently in power in the state, following the BRS's recent defeat in the assembly elections.

The two-term MP Patil joined the BJP in front of Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Tarun Chugh, the party's Telangana in-charge, and K Lakshman, the head of the OBC morcha. Patil praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

Ramulu, his son Bharat Prasad, and a few other BRS officials became members of the BJP on Thursday.

Patil revealed to reporters India has experienced a great deal of effort in the previous ten years because of Modi's goal for the nation's development. "He is known as the most trusted leader in the world," he stated.

Among other things, he applauded the Modi administration for the building of the Ram temple, the removal of Article 370, the outlawing of triple talaq, and the provision of free Covid vaccinations.

"There is no other choice for the advancement of Telangana and my parliamentary constituency except to take this action. We require resources and labour from the centre. Indeed, the Modi government provided us with a great deal of assistance," he stated.

Chandrasekhar stated that Patil's affirmation of Modi's leadership symbolises the support the prime minister has received from all throughout the nation.

Chugh asserted that K Chandrashekar Rao, his son K T Rama Rao, and his daughter K Kavitha are the only remaining members of the party now that the BRS is complete. He continued, "BRS leaders are tired of the family's corruption and nepotism."
