Four candidates for the next Lok Sabha elections were announced on Monday by Telangana's Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

In the Khammam and Mahabubabad constituencies, Nama Nageswara Rao and Malothu Kavitha will run for reelection, respectively, while B. Vinod Kumar has been selected from Karimnagar and Koppula Eshwar from Peddapalli.

The initial list of candidates was released by BRS President and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao following two days of strategy sessions with Lok Sabha constituency leaders.

In the Karimnagar election of 2019, Bandi Sanjay Kumar of the BJP defeated Vinod Kumar. Sanjay's re-announced candidature has already been made public by the BJP.

Former minister Koppula Eshwar, who lost the most recent Assembly elections, will take on B. Venkatesh Netha, the current Member of Parliament for Peddapalli. Netha was elected in 2019 on the BRS ticket but joined the Congress last month.

Nine of the state's seventeen Lok Sabha seats were won by the BRS in 2019. Two additional blows to the party occurred last week with the BJP joining forces with MPs P. Ramulu of Nagarkurnool and B. B. Patil of Zahirabad. On March 2, the saffron party declared Patil as its candidate for Zahirabad. Meanwhile, P. Bharat, Ramulu's son, will run as the party's candidate in Nagarkurnool.
