As Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's convoy passed through Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh, as part of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, BJP members greeted him with shouts of "Modi, Modi" and "Jai Shri Ram."
Rahul Gandhi was also shown receiving potatoes from BJP members in a video that went popular on social media, and the Congressman halted his motorcade to greet them. Gandhi was requested to take the potatoes and offer the BJP workers gold in exchange.
In a video that went viral before the 2017 Gujarat election, Rahul Gandhi assured potato growers that he would install a machine that could turn potatoes into gold. But it turned out that the footage had been altered.
The video shows a number of BJP workers giving the potatoes to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi after he exits his vehicle. Before returning to his car, the Congress politician is seen grinning and shaking hands with the BJP leaders.
Amidst their incessant sloganeering, Rahul Gandhi is also seen kissing the BJP workers in the air.
The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra moved from the Dholpur district of Rajasthan into the Morena district of Madhya Pradesh on March 2.
Before returning to Rajasthan on March 6, the yatra would traverse through the districts of Morena, Gwalior, Guna, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Ujjain, Dhar, and Ratlam.
Beginning on January 14 in conflict-ridden Manipur, the yatra will conclude later this month in Mumbai, after covering 6,700 miles across 15 states. It seeks to show the importance of 'nyay' (justice) while interacting with regular people.
