
Hyundai Motor India Sets New Benchmark
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), the Indian subsidiary of South Korea's Hyundai Motor Company, has registered an important milestone. The company has sold a total of 33 lakh units in India and overseas markets together. Of these, 20 lakh units were sold domestically. In contrast, 13 lakh cars were shipped abroad to more than 140 countries, including South Africa, Mexico, Chile, and Peru. This feat further solidifies Hyundai Motor India's position as one of India's key vehicle exporting companies.
Leadership Remarks on the Milestone
Hyundai Motor India Managing Director Eunsoo Kim expressed his delight at Hyundai i10 reaching the sales milestone of 33 lakh. He pointed out that this achievement demonstrates Hyundai's capability to offer world-class products. Kim stated that high customer satisfaction and the company's constant pursuit of excellence globally ensured this success.
Kim also unveiled plans for future exports of cars to advanced nations from a new Maharashtra factory, further adding to India's manufacturing base.
Hyundai i10's journey in India
Hyundai launched the i10 almost 18 years ago. It has released three generations of the model since then:
- i10
- Grand i10
- Grand i10 Nios
Presently, the Hyundai i10 comes in petrol, petrol manual transmission (MT), and CNG versions. On an average, Hyundai retails nearly one lakh units of i10 per year in India.
