
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a 100-rupee price drop for LPG cylinders in honour of International Women's Day.
"Today, on Women's Day, our government has decided to reduce LPG cylinder prices by Rs. 100," Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated in an X post.
"This will significantly ease the financial burden on millions of households across the country, especially benefiting our Nari Shakti," the prime minister posted on Twitter.
By lowering the cost of cooking gas, we also hope to promote family happiness and maintain a cleaner environment. He posted on X, "This is in accordance with our goal of empowering women and ensuring 'Ease of Living' for them.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath thanked the Prime Minister and stated that the decision was made with the welfare of the population in mind, quoting his tweet.
"Today, on the occasion of 'Women's Day', the decision to discount the prices of LPG cylinders by 100 percent will provide financial relief to crores of families and will also provide a healthy and happy life to the mother power by freeing them from smoke and pollution."

Oil marketing companies (OMCs) raised the price of 19 kilogrammes of commercial LPG petrol cylinders on March 1.
The 19-kg commercial LPG gas cylinder in Delhi was selling for Rs 1,795.00 after the increase.
Commercial petrol cylinders were updated to cost Rs 1,911.00 in Kolkata, Rs 1,749.00 in Mumbai, and Rs 1,960.50 in Chennai.
