In a video released on Sunday, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) claimed that alcohol had been given out to guarantee attendance at YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh,'s public gathering in Addanki.
In the footage, multiple individuals were seen sitting inside a bus and clutching spirits bottles. Several of them were observed sipping from the bottles as well.
The TDP posted the video on X, the former name for Twitter, and asked whether anyone would have gone to Jagan Mohan Reddy's open meeting if alcohol had not been offered.
The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), led by Jagan Mohan Reddy, asserted that over 15 lakh people showed up for the public gathering called "Siddham" (ready).
Green mats, according to TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh, were utilised to hide the low attendance at the meeting. He went on to say that the public meeting was postponed for an hour and a half due to a "lack of people".
The "sparse crowd" signalled the end of Jagan Reddy's tenure, according to Nara Lokesh.
In response to Nara Lokesh's allegation, YSRCP released a video purporting to show a gathering of people outside the meeting location.
The party referred to the TDP leader as "pappu" and declared that it does not use "gimmicks" such as green mats or graphics.
