MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is only behaving affectionately and making empty promises to the public because of the impending Lok Sabha elections.
Stalin claimed that "our Dravidian government is always working for you" and that the Centre was not treating the states fairly while speaking at a gathering in Dharmapuri.
"We view every district as being the same. But does the central government, led by the BJP, consider each state equally? All states should be respected and supported by the Union government, but instead it is attempting to destroy them. The Chief Minister said, "It (the Centre) is trying to destroy our language, tradition, and race by dismantling the states.
Stalin made fun of the Prime Minister's numerous excursions to Tamil Nadu by claiming that they had produced no results.
"The prime minister is visiting a lot as the election draws closer. The visits are viewed as pointless excursions by the people of Tamil Nadu. Do these trips lead to any growth? They are putting on a play about the commencement of construction for AIIMS in Madurai, the foundation stone of which was placed in 2019. They will also cease that after the election," he stated.
Shortly before the elections, the prime minister announced a decrease in LPG rates. It was increased by Rs 500 for ten years, and it has now been lowered by Rs 100. This is a hoax, don't you think? "Is there a worse way to deceive people?" he said.
Even during the floods in Chennai and Thoothukudi last year, according to the chief minister, Modi did not travel to the state.
"He declared that he would not permit money intended for people's development to be embezzled. However, what kind of money did he offer Tamil Nadu? Tamil Nadu lost out on Rs 20,000 crore by forgoing GST compensation. We were given a flood relief fund of Rs 37,000 crore. The second stage of the metro project received no funding. The state provides two-thirds of the funding for the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme.
"Fifty percent of the Jal Jeevan initiative is funded by the state. This merely demonstrates how the Prime Minister is embellishing his plans by using public funds. He is making hollow promises and entering the state with empty hands. The Prime Minister only demonstrates his devotion for the people during election season," Stalin continued.
