The Kannada actor Shivarajkumar declared on Tuesday that he will run a campaign for his wife, Geetha Shivarajkumar, who plans to run for the Shivamogga seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The Congress released a list of candidates on March 9 and included Geetha Shivarajkumar as its nominee from Shivamogga.
"Arrangements are in motion. When necessary, I shall participate in the campaign," Shivarajkumar declared in Belagavi.
Additionally, Shivarajkumar stated that he has not approached other actors to support his wife's cause.
"We are here to triumph. No other actors have been invited to participate in the campaign. This time, the heat is intense. There should be no pressure placed on them. The actors will show up if we summon them. However, we shouldn't profit from that. He stated, "We have to give our actors room and always maintain that faith.
Notably, during the Karnataka Assembly elections, Shivarajkumar ran an effective campaign for the Congress.
Sarekoppa Bangarappa, the previous chief minister, is the father of Geetha Shivarajkumar. She has two brothers: Kumar Bangarappa, a leader of the BJP, and Madhu Bangarappa, a state minister.
Shivarajkumar responded, "Who am I to unite Bangarappa's family?" when asked if he would attempt to bring the Bangarappa family together. I am not his son; I am his son-in-law."
